Objective:
To produce a plan to move the club forward inline with our Focus Club status. Provid
e us with a professional admin structure and cricket programme. Make all individuals as good as they can be. Make all players aware of club policy/procedures.
Administration:
All players’ details (address, telephone, e-mail) will be held on our new web site. This will give us a complete admin program. All details will be hidden from other members and only made available to the web site administrator.
Full player’s details required for league and emergency contact.
It will also allow us to track and record payment of subscriptions/match fees.
Reduce mail out costs by sending information by e-mail
The site will also be use for squad / team selection. It will also allow us to text / e mail match details.
Certain pages on the web site will only be made available to members. All players must register as a site member.
Produce leaflet to advise all players regarding club policies. Produce welcome pack for new playing members.
Use ECB site (www.harrow.play-cricket.com) for stats from 2003 to 2007. Link set up from new site to old.
Move all results/fixtures/stats to new site for next season.
Marketing:
Use web site to market the club. Produce professional fixture book. Use car stickers to promote.
Target schools & local papers via posters & press reports.
Advertise via local resident’s magazines / Wisden magazine. Display posters in local libraries.
Produce annual newsletter to keep schools / companies / Community Partners / MCB / MCCL informed of progress.
Funding:
Sell 50/50 club to all members. Target 100 members. Total raised £6k. £3k in prize money. £3k for club projects.
Use web site for further funding Set up Club Shop.
Sell cricket scratch cards on match days to raise funds.
Explore grant agencies to help us continue our cricket facilities programme.
Produce sponsorship pack to help find local sponsor. Target local companies. Build on community support (C2S – ClubMark).
Keep in touch with grant / funding contacts via web sites / monitor changes.
Equipment:
New covers required for 2008. Start process of grant applications Dec 07.
Site equipment shed by nets for storage of bowling machine & training equipment. Wall safe in dressing room.
Improve kitchen .Establish equipment project for 2009.
All players to respect & look after club equipment. Identify responsible members to help set up & put away equipment after training / match days.
Cricket :
Establish player’s availability for the season. Identify squads for Sat teams. Prepare league registration. Increase playing strength. Allowing for increased competition.
Encourage players to attend winter nets. Identify improvement area’s using last year’s stats.
Players to support & respect captains / team mates. Improve team spirit.
Set up pre season training in April. Improve fitness & team spirit. Identify ability of new player’s.
Move to Tuesday night training tied in with selection evening. Establish training programme. That’s enjoyable & skill focused. Look to provide food after training. Look at your mobile net for middle practise.
Arrange early season fixtures that will test 1st XI. Obtain correct balance of friendly fixtures (home & away).
Set up maintenance programme for our nets. Rolling, lines and filling in of foot marks.
Update playing strip. Find ways to get all players to wear HCC playing strip & looking like a team.
Set up club shop for cricket equipment & clothing Find supplier that meets our financial requirements.
Plan to bring Theo back in player coach / role.
Saturday cricket key for moving club forward. Disciplined meet times. Proper warm ups. Playing together. Outfield clear for players to warm up.
Sunday cricket to be used for development of younger players. Correct mix of youth & experience.
Cup cricket should be important. Target 1st XI players for cup availability.
Set up player of the month awards across May-June-July-August-September. Bring back Man of the Match awards. Saturday league home games only.
Players to understand match day requirements (meet times-match fees-availability – chairs / tables re teas). Food available after Sat matches.
Complete review of cricket teas. Cost / food selection. Improve kitchen facilities.
Match fees must be paid on the day & before the match.
Provide players with the tools /opportunities to develop their cricket.
Captains to understand club targets / ambitions/ policies.
All players must accept selection policy.
Availability must be put in availability book on day of match.
Set up training programme that’s enjoyable & improves player’s fitness / ability. Make food available after training.All senior’s to be aware of junior goals/ programme. Input from seniors required to develop wider skills base of young players.
Senior players to support & encourage young players during weekend cricket matches.
Junior development team to replace our Sunday 3rd XI.
Develop our junior programme around LTAD (Long Term Athlete Development) Planning our junior cricketers for long term success.
