Match report Harrow pulled off their second successive Middlesex County Cricket League win by comprehensively beating top of the table Richmond on Saturday. Batting first, Richmond were soon put on the defensive by another excellent opening burst from Michael Vosloo who continued his good form by taking 3-48. From 43-3 Richmond stumbled to 100-5 thanks mainly to a fine 55 from McLennan. But a 6th wicket partnership of 111 between Alexander (89) and Baker (43) seemed to have given Richmond a platform to set a competitive total. However, the Harrow bowling stayed disciplined and ensured that when Richmond did finally reach 234-9, it had taken them all of 55 over’s to compile. On paper a run chase of 235 off 45 over’s against the league leaders should have been a stiff task. But it was made to look easy by two fabulous knocks from opener Dave Walker and new boy number three Anant Brahmbhatt. Both batsman scored at a run a ball and flayed the bowling to all parts of Payne’s Folly. Whilst Walker just missed out on a well deserved hundred falling for 87, Brahmbhatt finished unbeaten on a classy 113 off as many balls to ensure that Harrow took all ten points and moved from 9th in the league table up to 7th.
