Harrow Cricket Club Sunday 2nd XI v Radlett on Sun 08 Aug 2010 at 1300
Harrow Cricket Club Won
Match report
Harrow's Sunday Second XI continued their good form by beating Radlett CC by 4 wickets. Losing the toss the opposition decided to bat first which looked to be a bad decision at 60 for 6 however, some sensible lower order batting ensured Radlett posted a defendable if somewhat light total having been bowled out for 174 just inside their entitlement of 45 overs. Jonathan Raveendran and Nirmal Ramji were the pick off the bowlers with figures of 3 for 24 and 2 for 33 respectively.Akash Rawal, Biswa Malla,Kishan and skipper Amit Patel also chipped in with 1 wicket each.
Harrow went about chasing 175 for victory in their somewhat usual fashion by scoring quickly inside the first 5 overs. James Han was first to go scoring 19 and Kishan Patel,Paul James and Amit Patel played poor shots and scored just the one run between them. Chris Summersell batted well and scored 23. Shazad played nicely in getting to his fifty before playing one too many shots and getting out shortly after. In came Nirmal Ramji and Alex Atfield who batted extremely sensibly and maturely to guide Harrow home by picking up singles on offer and well as scoring the odd boundary off loose bowling and taking advantage of field positions set by the opposition captain. Both Nirmal and Alex were heavily praised by skipper AP who along with some other senior players should take a real look at learning how to play a good innings under pressure as was demonstrated by the two under 17s. Harrow hope to continue their good form into next week when they play away to Chingford.
