Harrow Cricket Club Won
Match report
Harrow 1s travelled to Barnes and put in another solid performance to take another 10 points that moves them up to 3rd place three points behind the league leaders. Barnes batted first and lost their first wicket with the score on 20 with Craig going for 7 caught Aslam bowled Crook. Hawk batted well scoring 58 as Barnes moved the score to 89 when the second wicket went down. Barnes looked to be in a good position as they moved the score on when Ratcliffe was run out by Crook for 53, but with the score on 170 for 4 in the 40th over they looked capable of getting 250. Harrow tightened their grip on the match and wickets started to fall. Beale was given out for obstruction when he kicked the ball away trying to avoid being run out. Wickets started to fall as the lower order failed to push on and Barnes closed on 234 all out.Eranga Mendis picked up 2 for 31 from 11 over’s and Gopi Navaratnam also collected 2 wickets and 2 run outs. It was still a challenging total and Harrow had to bat well to collect all 10 points.
Harrow made a great start as Aslam & Mendis put on 82 for the first wicket with Aslam going for 36 and Mendis falling four short of a hundred. Tushaar Karia carried on with a good 40 as the second wicket went down with the score on 174 Harrow looked to be in control. Darren Crook ended on 25 not out as Harrow reached their target for the loss of 6 wickets. Harrow entertain second place Shepherds Bush next week and this will be a test of the progress made over the last few weeks.
