Harrow kicked started their county league season with a solid performance over North Middlesex picking up 10 points at a damp Payne’s Folly. Harrow won the toss and asked North Middlesex to bat. The first wicket went down with the score on nought as Harrow looked to make a good start. North Middlesex battled back in difficult conditions the umpires took the players off as the rain fell for 35 minutes. The second wicket fell with the score on 58 in the 15 over. The majority of North Middlesex batsman got a start, but they couldn’t build a match winning innings with a top score of only 33. Harrow held 7 catches as North Midd tried to raise the tempo. Theo Modeste was the pick of the bowlers picking up 3 wickets in his 18 overs. Stand in wicketkeeper Wasim Aslam did a sterling job in difficult circumstances as North Midd declared on 182 for 9 in the 51st over.
Harrow had to bat in the worst of the conditions with bad light & drizzle for most of their innings. Waqas Hussain continues to impress as he made a good 31 before he was bowled by Sculley. Tushaar Karia batting at 3 also looked the part as he scored 24 without any problems before he was run out. Dave Walker came in and scored 59, but it was Pritesh Vaghela who saw Harrow home with a quick fire 43. Hitting 3 sixes and 2 fours. Harrow reached their target in 36 over for the loss of 5 wickets as they scored at 5.2 an over. This win moved Harrow into 3rd position as they look to build on this performance away at Richmond next Saturday.
