South Hampstead v Harrow Cricket Club Saturday 1st XI on Sat 23 May 2009 at 1300

Match report
Harrow scored their first league points of the season with a winning draw away to South Hampstead. Electing to field first, Harrow put in a fine performance in the field keep the run scoring in check and never let the South Hampstead batsmen get on top. Luke Quinlivan bowled unchanged for 17 overs and was backed up in the field by a motivated Harrow side that were playing their full strength side for the first time this season. Even though South Hampstead had reached 182-2, it took them 45 overs, and in the rush to accelerate the scoring they lost quick wickets. The fielders backed up the bowlers as the spinners James Romero (4-32) and Avinash Karia (2-51) turned the screw. In the end South Hampstead scrambled their way to 238-8 off 55 overs, mainly thanks to 94 from Zia Sialivi.
Harrow got off to quick start with Waqas Hussein and Luke Quinlivan (42) putting on a hundred run partnership for the second wicket. The fall of Quinlivan saw Harrow have a middle order wobble as they went from 125-1 to 147-5. Harrow decided to settle for 4 points as they chased 195 for the winning draw. Finishing 212-8 off 45 overs, they were indebted to a fine 89 not out by seventeen year old opener Waqas Hussain who played with calmness and great skill to make sure that Harrow scored 4 valuable points for the winning draw.
