Week 2: Round up from MCCL games

17 May 2021

Despite the weather all four of our senior XI's managed to complete their league games on Saturday.

There was a standout performance from our 1st XI at Eastcote. Scoring 257-5 in a reduced 38 over game. Ronald Ettienne smashing 114 not out off only 72 balls, ably supported by 67 from Dan Steward. In reply Eastcote could only manage 124-5 from 20 overs, with Harrow running out victors by 30 runs on the Duckworth Lewis method as the rain prevented any further play. (10 Points)

The 2nd XI were very unfortunate to lose off the last ball in a game where only run rate decides the revised total in case of rain, unlike the Duckworth Lewis used in 1st team cricket. On a tricky pitch we did well to score 184-6 (45). An excellent 69 from Avi Patel was the foundation for a competitive score as the lower middle order chipped in with good partnerships. Winchmore Hill were 67-4 (20) when the rains came. After a long delay, the revised total was adjusted to 119 off 29 overs meaning they only needed 52 off 9 overs to win. Despite that the game when down to the last ball where 2 runs were needed. A good performance from the 2nd XI and very unlucky to lose. (0 Points)

The 4th XI made it three wins out of four for the senior teams this weekend with another resounding win at home to MTSSC. Debutant Ben Webster scoring 77 not out, and and some late order hitting from Hardik Bhattraj 34 off 19 balls seeing us to a very competitive 246-6 (45). In reply MTTSC imploded to 40 all out in under 20 overs. The game was over before the heavy rains arrived that affected other games. (10 points)
