Match report A bit of an eye opener this one, at one of the best teams and grounds in the Championship. Trailfinders won the toss and batted. Excellent bowling from Saad Malik and Nouman Yadgari had reduced the home team to 49-4. Sensible batting saw the opposition recover before another two wicket burst saw them wobble at 150-6. Two crucial dropped catches, one easy one difficult, allowed Yadav to score 82 and change the game. The next 12 overs yielded 85 runs as the spinners bowled too short. In fact all the bowlers, with the exception of Saad Malik, bowled too short and were punished.

Our chase of 258 got off to a solid start with skipper Ravi Rajapakse and Fahim Mir looking very accomplished. at 70-1 off 16 overs it looked a decent platform. But after that we showed an inability to deal with their spinners who bowled maiden after maiden. Only 12 runs came off 10 overs and that effectively settled the game. Battling it out for a draw, some very ordinary shots were played but we held on 8 wickets down to secure a point.
