Enfield v Harrow Cricket Club 1st XI on Sat 13 Jun 2009 at 1300
Harrow Cricket Club Won
Match report
Harrow produced their best performance of the season to win their first Middlesex County Cricket League game of the season, away to Enfield. After being put in to bat on very good pitch, Harrow made full use of the excellent batting conditions. A second wicket partnership of 86 between Waqas Hussein (47) & Luke Quinlivan laid the foundations for a big score. Quinlivan (73) then combined with Tushar Karia (57) to put on 74 for the 3rd wicket as Harrow reached 178-3 in the 42nd over. Having kept wickets in hand, Harrow were able to take full toll of weary Enfield attack on a hot day, with a further 101 runs being scored in the last 10 overs, as Karia, Vaghela (30), Crook (30) and Bhupal (25) all contributed quick runs to allow Harrow to declare at 279-6 off 52 overs.
Harrow were then indebted to an inspired spell of bowling from Darren Crook, who with great skill and committment bowled unchanged from the start of the Enfield innings, to produce career best figures of 8-61. The performance was all the more remarkable as this is one of the most batsman friendly pitches in the league. Enfield were bowled out for 141 in 31 overs as Harrow ran out winners by a huge 138 run margin, to seal a great team effort that lifted Harrow off the bottom of the league table.
