Harrow Cricket Club Sunday 1st XI v Osterley on Sun 09 Aug 2009 at 1300
Harrow Cricket Club Lost

Match report Harrow were given a lesson in how to chase runs on Sunday in the Chess Valley League by Osterley. Batting first Harrow posted what looked like a match winning total of 264-5 from 45 overs. Tushaar Karia batted superbly for his 103 and together with captain Suk Bhupal who scored 79 laid the foundations by putting on 149 runs for the 2nd wicket. Some good late order hitting from Farrukh Choudhry & Kishan Patel ensured a competitive total. When Osterley were reduced to 51-3, the game looked to have swung Harrow's way. But an inspired partnership of 216 for the 4th wicket between Abid (124*) and Manoj (93*) took the game away from Harrow. Both batsman ran between the wickets brilliantly, found the gaps and measured their run chase to perfection, not looking overawed by the enormous task at any stage. It was a lesson in how to chase runs, and one that Harrow's batsmen would do well to learn from.
