Match report Another 40 over match on a damp pitch and outfield. Ickenham batted first and as with Ealing the day before were indebted to two of their top order batters for 50's that carried them to a par score of 160 from their 40 overs. As per the Ealing match our bowlers were not able to dismiss the two best Ickenham batters. That aside the bowling was a lot tighter, the fielding sharper and the energy levels higher than against Ealing. Matt Elworthy and Sachin Patel were the pick of the bowlers and Ogyen bowled well and with good control. The Harrow reply was notable for Sean O'Brien's excellent 48 (his best for the club), Ogyen's classy 26 (including lofted cover drives against the Middx. u.12 captain!) and our ability to use the full 40 overs to patiently chase down Ickenham's 160. In this respect Sean's 48 was exactly what we have been trying to coach into the batters. Although he batted for 27 overs and faced 73 balls only 44 were dot balls (60%) and he always looked to pick up singles and run hard for 2's and 3's. This is difficult without good fitness levels. Well done on a good win. Many thanks to Kishan for standing in at the last minute (and scoring the winning runs!), Neil for umpiring and Ziko for captaining well. And thanks to all the players for playing the right spirit with no complaints about who bats where and bowls how many overs. It's a team game!
